LOCAL PROFESSIONAL AND GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE ADVOCATE
My family moved to Duncan in 1955 and I graduated from Cowichan High in 1968. Taking engineering at UBC, I graduated from Bio-Resource Engineering (Environmental) in 1974. Following 6 years of working for the Provincial Government in the Pollution Control Branch, I became self employed, contracting for work in British Columbia and the Middle East from my home in Shawnigan Lake. Upgrading his degree to Masters level, I moved to Ireland with my young family (wife, Therese, and 3 sons). I provided Environmental and Civil engineering to various government agencies and private businesses in Ireland, the UK and India. Retiring in 2015, my family and I returned to Canada and I am presently finishing building a house on the Malahat.
Having worked in the Environmental and Civil Engineering for more than 40 years, focusing on waste minimization and environmental planning, I is looking forward to addressing the concerns of my neighbours in the Malahat and Mill Bay Area, notably the future availability of potable water. Also of major concern is the increase in the population of the Region and its impact on infrastructure and services. To address these impacts will require different approaches.
I am counting on the electors of Area A to provide me the opportunity to help bring all of us a better future.
